Relevant studies

To meet the requirements concerning previous academic studies relevant for the intended MSc degree programme in the Main admission round, you must have completed at least 25–30 credits in courses relevant to the subject. This page contains general guidance on which courses may be considered relevant and how to find examples of such coruses in Hanken's Sisu.

N.B. The information on this page concerns the required previous studies only for applicants in the Main admission round.

What kind of courses are considered relevant?

You can find examples of relevant courses for the different subjects by searching for the subject’s basic and intermediate studies in Hanken’s Sisu system. You are not required to have completed these exact courses to meet the eligibility requirement; however, they provide an indication of the types of courses that may be considered relevant for the subject to which you are applying. The minimum required 25–30 ECTS credits of relevant studies do not necessarily need to be included in your degree, and can be split up between multiple completed degrees, incomplete degrees or open university studies.

Please note that Hanken does not provide assessments of your prior studies in advance. The evaluation of previous studies is carried out by academic staff during the processing of the application. Fulfilling the minimum amount of required ECTS does not automatically lead to admission.

How to find courses in Sisu:

  1. Go to https://sisu.hanken.fi/student/search/main. Use Sisu in English or Swedish. You can change language in the top right corner.
