After course application

Read more about what happens after your course application

The process after obtaining a place on a course:

1. Wait. All course registrations are manually entered into Hanken´s study register, so please have patience. When we have registered you in Sisu, you can proceed to step 2. Step 2 won't work until you're registered, therefor wait. Note that you do not get a separate notification about the registration.

2. Activate your user-ID. Instructions to this are further down on this page. You cannot activate your user-ID until we have registered you in Sisu. If you get an error message, your account has probably not been created yet. If you already have an active user-ID, you can skip this step.

3. Create your study plan and sign up in Sisu. After you have 1) been registered in Sisu, and 2) got your user-ID to Hanken´s network, you need to
a) create a study plan, and
b) sign up as participant on your course/s. You need to sign up for all courses you are participating in at least a week before they start, or within the timeframe you can find in the course description in Sisu. Detailed instructions on how to do this can be found on this page. If you prefer, you can also use our quick video instructions. This third step puts you on the participants-list, and you can be reached by the teacher's emails.

4. Log in to the Moodle-page for your course. The course material can be found in Moodle. The teacher sends the Moodle-key at the start of the course (after the registration period in Sisu has ended), either via email to your Hanken email address, or in Sisu, so please check both. Remember to also check your junk mail and spam folder.

You have also access to Hanken's library

For studies at the Open University, you need access to Hanken's network and the Hanken email. The teacher/s will send all important information to your Hanken email (link behind login with Hanken-ID).

Instructions on how to activate your user ID are here. Please allow 1-2 weeks before activating since we manually need to register you to Hanken's study system first.

Note! You need Finnish bank codes to activate your user ID electronically. Otherwise you need to visit Hanken on-site, and show your identity documents. Consequently, even if the courses are given on-line, you cannot attend the courses if you are a permanent resident in another country. If you need help with your user-ID, please contact the IT-department at help@hanken.fi.
