Call for researchers in national campaign

The Finnish campaign Vaihtoehto Eskolle aims at increasing the Finns’ knowledge about researcher’s in the country. Hanken takes part in the campaign.

Finns love science, but according to the most recent Science Barometer, most of them can only name one living scientist. That's astronomer Esko Valtaoja. Now, over 79 universities and other organisations have joined forces in the campaign Vaihtoehto Eskolle (an alternative to Esko, in order to bring forward also other researchers in Finland.

Hanken has almost 110 researchers, here is a selection of them.

Topi Miettinen Opens in new window ’s research focus is on game theory, behavioural game theory and experimental economics.

Nikodemus Solitander Opens in new window ’s research include corporate responsibility, human rights and business, sustainable development, business ethics and economic geography.

Timo Korkeamäki Opens in new window is an expert on corporate finance, financial markets and institutions. He has also contributed with financial expertise to the Finnish government as well as the Finnish Institute for International Affairs.

Mikael Laakso Opens in new window conducts research on open access and is an expert on business models for publications and copyright issues. Mikael was recently appointed to an expert group for the European Commission.

Nari Lee Opens in new window is an expert on intellectual property rights issues and open innovation. She currently conducts research on issues connected to 3D printing.

Minna Martikainen Opens in new window ’s current research interests include corporate governance and ownership structures, insider trading, firm valuation together with profitability and growth of firms.

Jaakko Aspara Opens in new window is an expert on marketing strategies, innovations, brands and consumer psychology.   

Gyöngyi Kovács Opens in new window is the first professor in humanitarian logistics in the world. Her research interests include humanitarian logistics, sustainable supply chains and disaster relief.

Charlotta Niemistö Opens in new window conducts research in the field of work life: well-being, the topical question of work-life balance and equality.
