Liikesivistysrahasto donates an additional 250 000 euro to Hanken

Hanken has received a donation of 250 000 euro from The Foundation for Economic Education (Liikesivistysrahasto). This is the foundation’s second donation which brings the total amount donated to the campaign HANKEN RETURNS to half a million euro.

The donation decision is in line with the previous donation, to support economic research and education. The decision was also based on the same criteria: academic success within research, the societal impact measured in the amount of business graduates and PhDs, and the amount of incoming donations to the foundation from the different regions of the universities during the past 15 years.

- It is outmost important that the research and education at Hanken is relevant and of high standard. We are truly grateful for this donation and appreciate that the decision made by Liikesivistysrahasto has been based on the qualitative work and the success at Hanken, says Rector Karen Spens.

- Our donations to Finnish research and education within the field of Economics are both an investment in and a gift to the 100-year-old Finland, says the CEO of The Foundation for Economic Education, Johanna Vesterinen.

The fundraising campaign HANKEN RETURNS will continue until 30.6.2017 and has, with this donation included, so far raised approximately 10,7 million euro. The aim of the campaign is to secure Hanken’s unique position as Finland’s only independent business school.
