Hanken MOOCs

Hanken offers MOOCs (Massive Open Online Course) – globally available courses open to everyone. Currently Hanken offers five MOOCs in subjects such as service management, humanitarian logistics and sustainable development.

Hanken offers MOOCs through the FutureLearn platform, which has over 10 million users. Learners can take part in short lectures, articles, discussions, and tests at a distance. All course material is adapted for use on both mobile devices and computers. You can easily register on FutureLearn and take a course free of charge.

Hanken’s growing collection of MOOCs currently includes five MOOCs in various subjects:

Learn from legends

  • Principles of Service Management: An introduction to service research, customer relations, and value creation. With internationally renowned service researcher Professor Emeritus Christian Grönroos.
  • Principles of Wealth Management: Learn the basic concepts of finance and wealth management, and how to grow and manage wealth over time. In collaboration with finance expert Dr. Björn Wahlroos.

More information about Hanken's MOOCs can be found in the course calendar below. Most of Hanken's MOOCs can be taken at any time during the academic year but are facilitated only periodically. The calendar below shows when Hanken's different MOOCs are offered. By clicking on a course, you can see more information about the course in question, including when the course is facilitated, a link to the course page on FutureLearn, and a link to the course description in Sisu.

Hanken’s MOOCs are available both to Hanken students and to anyone interested in the courses. Read more below about different options for taking Hanken's MOOCs.

Free of charge MOOC Take course on FutureLearn. Take course on FutureLearn.
Course certificate Upgrade course on FutureLearn. Log in with your Hanken credentials for a free of charge upgrade. Upgrade course on FutureLearn, pay course fee.
Study credits Take course at Hanken. Use the enrolment link provided by the course examiner for the course on FutureLearn. Take course through Hanken’s Open University. Use the enrolment link provided by the course examiner for the course on FutureLearn.

Hanken students

  • You can take all Hanken MOOCs free of charge on the FutureLearn platform. This only requires you to create a FutureLearn user account.
  • Hanken students can upgrade Hanken's MOOCs on the FutureLearn platform free of charge. By upgrading the course, you get extended access to the course material and a course certificate once you complete the course. See instructions here.
  • If you want to receive study credits for a MOOC, as a Hanken degree student you can take courses at Hanken that contain MOOCs as part of the course (see table below). A course is 1-2 credits and contains additional work. The teacher will provide you with a separate enrolment link for the course on FutureLearn, which gives you the same access to the material as with an upgrade. Course registration in Sisu.

Others

  • You can take all Hanken MOOCs free of charge on the FutureLearn platform. This only requires you to create a FutureLearn user account.
  • If you want to receive a course certificate, you can upgrade the course on the FutureLearn platform. This requires you to pay a course fee.
  • If you want to receive study credits for a MOOC, you can take courses at Hanken that contain MOOCs as part of the course through Hanken's Open University (see table below). A course is 1-2 credits and contains additional work. The teacher will provide you with a separate enrolment link for the course on FutureLearn, which gives you the same access to the material as with an upgrade. Course registration through Hanken’s Open University.
