Three medals to Hanken by the President of the Republic of Finland

On 6 December 2022, President of the Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, awarded three medals to people connected with Hanken School of Economics. The medals are officially awarded on Independence Day, but Hanken will mark the occasion with a ceremony during the Rector's Christmas coffee at the School on 16 December 2022.

The following persons have been awarded the medals:

Commander of the Order of the Lion
Jannica Fagerholm, former member and chair of the Board

As a member and chair of the Board, Jannica Fagerholm has actively developed Hanken's fundraising processes and, through her business contacts and long experience in long-term investment management, has helped build Hanken into a business school of international standard and with a funding structure that can be guaranteed even in times of economic recession.

Knight First Class of the Order of the White Rose of Finland
Maria Holmlund-Rytkönen, Professor of Marketing

As Dean, Maria Holmlund-Rytkönen has a key role in ensuring that the education Hanken offers to society and its students is relevant and well thought-out, and that it leads to a degree that is valued in the business world both in Finland and internationally.

Knight of the Order of the Lion of Finland
Elina Stadigh, Director of University Services

Over the years, Elina Stadigh has taken care of staff development and coordinated the participation of both academic and administrative staff in appropriate trainings to ensure that Hanken's staff is kept up to date with the requirements of an internationally oriented accredited business school with a high level of ambition.
