Sustainability Unwrapped podcast challenges the conventional discussions around sustainability’

The podcast which was launched last autumn returns with many exciting and invigorating conversations on how to make our world more sustainable.

The podcast’s second season kicked off with an insightful discussion around inequality and gendered notions in care and unpaid work, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and what can and should be done going forward to move towards the care economy.

The podcast series will continue to shine light on many of the sustainability challenges including the voices that are not often heard in the prevailing debates. This week Petra Laiti, a Hanken alumnus and Sámi activist will discuss how colonialism and various forms of natural resource extraction are endangering the Sámi culture and their relation to their land and water.

‘‘Business schools are often notorious for being conventional and we want to challenge that notion while at the same time spurring changes in the society around us with these inspirational conversations!”, says Sanchi Maheshwari, Social Responsibility Coordinator at Hanken

Although, the podcast series aims to provide a platform for Hanken’s researchers to engage in critical discussions around sustainability topics with experts from both academia and practice, there will also be episodes carried out by Hanken students.

"Offering students, the possibility to participate in the podcast is a great way to bring fresh ideas and perspectives into sustainability discussions.", adds Sanchi Maheshwari.
