Hanken student awarded for Best Master´s Thesis in Consumer Research

Best Master´s Thesis in Consumer Research Award 2015 by the Finnish Association of Consumer Research presented on Thursday 12 May

Hanken student Hanna Rahikainen got Best Master´s Thesis in Consumer Research Award 2015 by the Finnish Association of Consumer Research. Rahikainens Master´s Thesis “Ethical Consumption as a reflection of self-identity” explores ethical consumption from the perspective of the consumer´s self-understanding.

PhD Pekka Mäkelä chose the winner of the award, and comments the level of the theses handed in to the competition.

- All theses were top quality and used both quantitative and qualitative approaches as well as a combination of them in a versatile manner, says Mäkelä.

In Rahikainen’s thesis Mäkelä especially comments her insightful way of analyzing qualitative data as well as its contribution to the context of ethical consumption.

The Award was presented at the association´s spring seminar in Helsinki on Thursday 12 May.
