The solemn conferment of Master’s Degrees is an official ceremony in which all who received their master’s degree during the past year will receive their official document from Hanken entitling to use the professional title "ekonom" in Finland.

Program

If you graduated with a Master's Degree from Hanken in Helsinki between November 2017 and 22 October 2018 you are invited to attend the ceremony.

The new graduates gather at 16.30 in lecture room Maxen where you receive more information on the procedures during the ceremony.

The official ceremony with speeches and the official conferment starts at 17.00 in the Assembly Hall and will last about two hours. After the official ceremony a glass of sparkling wine is served in the main hall.

Guests

Every graduate can invite 1-2 guests to the Solemn Conferment of Degrees. Guests do not need to be registered and will gather in the Assembly hall 16.50.

The Gala Dinner afterwards is only for the recently graduated Masters and Hanken's staff.

Gala Dinner

After the official ceremony there will be a gala dinner at restaurant Metropol, Hietaniemenkatu 14. The Gala Dinner is only for the recently graduated Masters and Hanken's staff and starts 19.30.

Dinner includes a three-course meal and drinks. After the dinner there is live music and time for dancing. The restaurant closes at 2 am.

Price for dinner is € 79 and payments needs to be done via netbank or creditcard with registration. Registration is only confirmed when payment is received. 

Please note that registration is binding and needs to be done latest 8.11.2018.

Dress Code

For the recently graduated the dress code is a white tie or dark suit for the gentlemen and a long evening gown for the ladies.

There is no dress code for the graduated masters' guests at the Solemn Conferment, but they are advised to consider the nature of the event.
