When the Flow Stops: A Panel on Security of Supply
From medicines to microchips to energy, security of supply has shifted from being an abstract policy concern and to a boardroom and government priority. Rising geopolitical tension, fragile global supply chains, and growing dependence on few critical suppliers have forced companies and states alike to confront the same question: what happens when the flow stops?
Supply Chain Management & Social Responsibility invites Hanken alumni and students to a panel discussion that tackles this question head-on, bringing together perspectives from industry, healthcare, and national preparedness policy.
The panel will explore how organizations build resilience into supply chains exposed to disruption, what role companies play alongside government agencies in maintaining critical societal functions, and where the line falls between commercial efficiency and national security.
Speakers:
Esa Rautalinko, former President & CEO of Patria and, since this September, Hanken's Executive in Residence for Supply Chain Management & Social Responsibility
Anne Kariniemi, former Vice President of Logistics and Sourcing at Oriola, with a broad industry background, now also a doctoral researcher on pharmaceutical security of supply at the National Defence University
Alexander Zilliacus of Finland's National Emergency Supply Agency (NESA), with recent experience also from the Swedish Civil Defense and Resilience Agency.
After the panel discussion, there will be time to mingle and network with fellow participants.
