Hanken School of Economics will host an online seminar with Professor Brian Gibson on Wednesday 19 May 2021 at 15.00-16.00 (Helsinki time).
Professor Brian Gibson serves as the Wilson Family Professor of Supply Chain Management and Executive Director of the Center for Supply Chain Innovation at Auburn University in Alabama, USA. From a research perspective, Professor Gibson focuses on supply chain trends. His academic publications focus on the emergence of e-commerce and technology as key drivers of retail success. He also leads the future-oriented research project Logistics 2030: Navigating a Disruptive Decade.
At Hanken, Professor Gibson is analyzing the ongoing evolution of Nordic retailers from a traditional brick-and-mortar model to an omnichannel model that can keep pace with the ever-growing requirements of consumers. The research investigates the role of SCM in e-commerce order fulfillment, with a specific focus on the supply chain enablers and barriers to omnichannel retail success.
The topic of his seminar will be Achieving Omnichannel Success: Essential Supply Chain Capabilities for Nordic Retailers
The seminar will be held in English. The seminar is free of charge and is open for Hanken alumni, students, staff and corporate partners to register by 17 May.
