Art exhibition Moving Ecologies - Guided tour at Hanken for alumni and partners
Alejandra Alarcón is a Mexican artist based in Helsinki, working at the intersection of food and art. Her interest in sustainability, particularly its social, political, cultural and ecological dimensions, is informed by a decolonial and ecofeminist approach to knowledge production.
Kriti Kumari is an Indian-born artist currently studying at the University of the Arts Helsinki. Guided by the principle “by nature, from nature, for nature”, her artistic practice is slow, meditative and rooted in ecological consciousness.
Veronika Vegesent is a conceptual artist based in Helsinki. Drawing on Michel Foucault's theory of biopolitics and critiques of anthropocentrism, her work explores how power shapes the value assigned to different forms of life and how certain lives are rendered invisible.
Vedran Brnjetić is a photographer from Espoo. Originally from rural Croatia, he has witnessed both the beauty of pristine nature and humanity's imprint upon it, from footprints in the snow to the lasting scars left by the wars of the 1990s in his childhood memories.
Globe Art Point is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion within the arts and cultural sector.
The guided tour will be about 30 minutes and is held in English.
