Three distinctions by the President of the Republic of Finland

On 6 December 2023, the President of the Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, awarded three distinctions to persons connected with Hanken School of Economics.

The following persons have been awarded the distinctions:

Knight, First Class, of the Order of the White Rose of Finland
Kenneth Högholm, Professor of Finance

Professor Kenneth Högholm is an esteemed Professor of Finance. He has been active in research and teaching in the subject at Hanken's campus in Vaasa. Professor Högholm has contributed to the subject being the largest and most popular major today.

Knight, First Class, of the Order of the White Rose of Finland
Janne Larma, Vice-Chair of the Board

MSc Janne Larma is since 2019 Vice-Chair of the Board. In his commitment to Hanken, he underlines that alumni are jointly responsible for their alma mater. He has actively participated in Hanken's development ever since he first became a member of Hanken's board as a student representative.

Knight of the Order of the Lion of Finland
Helena Strandell, Planning and Development Manager

During her long career at Hanken, Planning and Development Manager Helena Strandell has e.g. acted as secretary of the Board since 2016, and has been an invaluable asset for several of Hanken's rectors. She is deeply involved in the performance agreements that Hanken concludes with the Ministry of Education and Culture.
