This year’s Fazer Award goes to Simone Falck. The award is worth 15,000 euros and is awarded to a Hanken student with strong values and good achievements.

In its motivation, the award committee emphasizes that Simone has a genuine drive and a strong commitment to sustainability. She spreads joy and despite prevailing circumstances and challenges with Covid-19, she follows her dream and has managed to study, work and start her own company. Simone Falck is a worthy ambassador for the Fazer Award and for Hanken.

- Fazer works actively with sustainability, as part of our strategy. Our values guide our behaviour and we have an active role in society. Our hope is that the award will raise awareness amongst young people on sustainable social concepts, and that we underline the importance of jointly addressing the challenges we are facing today and, in the future, says President & CEO Christoph Vitzthum, Fazer Group.

The scholarship is awarded every two years to a student who has demonstrated good academic performance and highlights or actively works on issues such as equality, sustainable development, openness and transparency, responsibility and respect for the environment, healthy lifestyles or socially responsible working methods. The award is worth 15,000 euros and the first award was handed out in February 2020.

The Award Committee consists of Henrik Ehrnrooth, Kaj Storbacka, Christoph Vitzthum and Camilla Wardi. The Award Committee thanks everyone who submitted their application. The three finalists, Ronny Eriksson, Simone Falck and Minja Orava, were all very strong candidates.
