Hanken receives 13.8 million euro from state co-financing

The fundraising campaign HANKEN RETURNS ended six months ago and the result of the state co-financing has now been published. Hanken is the fourth largest recipient with an amount of 13 755 670 euro.

This means that Hanken will increase its basic capital by 25.6 million euro. The total co-financing paid by the state is 150 million euros. In total, all 14 universities collected 128.9 million euros during the exposed campaign period, 1 November 2014 until the end of June this year. This means that the governmental matching scheme lands on approximately one euro for each donated euro.

"We are very pleased with the outcome of the fundraising campaign and we are extremely grateful for the support Hanken received from alumni, partners and friends. With an increased capital we can continue to improve and develop Hanken into a world-leading business school, says Rector Karen Spens.

The fundraising campaign HANKEN RETURNS was supported by 944 private individuals, companies and foundations who together donated 11.8 million euros. The collected funds are directed to the university's basic capital from which only the return is used. The goal of the campaign was to strengthen Hanken's unique position as Finland's only independent business school.a.
