Hanken Participates in Research Project on Smart Electricity System

Hanken participates in a two-year project that focuses on smart energy systems and solutions (Smart Grids). The Council of Ostrobothnia has granted the project funding and the overall budget is EUR 900 000. The University of Vaasa leads the project.

Hanken has taken on the task of identifying existing business models and brainstorming about possible future models within the framework of the energy cluster in Vaasa. Driven by both technology and market development this may in the future involve both switching up, switching on and finding new business models for already existing companies.

-The ambition within the project is to become a knowledge hub around which new business models can be generated and new companies founded. Hanken’s newly founded Business Lab is a great platform for development and implementation of the project says Peter Björk, professor of marketing at Hanken and involved in the project.
