Alumni of Hanken School of Economics are very satisfied with both their studies and career development, according to the national alumni survey conducted annually in Finland. The results also show that Hanken alumni have the lowest unemployment rate in the country. This year's survey opens on 1 October 2026, and we once again hope that as many alumni as possible will take the time to respond.

In autumn 2025, the survey was sent to master's graduates who had graduated in 2020 and doctoral graduates who had completed their degrees in 2022. Hanken once again received very positive results. Respondents rated their studies at 5.1 out of 6, compared to an average of 4.9 among all Finnish universities.

As many as 96 per cent of respondents said they were satisfied with their career, and they think that the international experience gained during their studies has had a significant impact on their careers. The Hanken alumni also top the national statistics for alumni living abroad five years after graduation.

The survey results also affect Hanken's funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture. One of the Hanken alumni who received this year's survey was Alina Anderson.

"I hope that all alumni, both those who receive the survey now and those who will receive it in the future, actually will respond. It is one of the easiest ways to give back to Hanken, as the School receives on average around EUR 5,000 per response. By responding, we are helping ourselves, because we all want our degree to be valued also in the future," says Anderson.

Recently, Hanken was ranked 56th in this year's Financial Times Masters in Management ranking, which is also based in part on alumni perceptions of their education.

More detailed results from the latest survey are available on the Hanken website. In addition to the national survey, Hanken also follows up with all master's graduates six months after graduation.

Every response matters to Hanken

This year's career tracking survey opened on 1 October 2026. The survey has been sent to master's graduates who completed their degrees in 2021 and doctoral graduates who earned their PhD in 2023.

"We are very grateful that you, as Hanken alums, take the time to complete the survey. Feedback from our alumni is important and helps us develop both our education and our activities at Hanken," says Anna Sohlström, alumni relations manager at Hanken.
