Greetings from Rector

Rektors hälsning - Karen Spens
Rector's greetings to students and staff during the corona epidemic.

Dear Students and Staff,

This spring turned out to be different than we expected: the corona virus quickly changed all our plans. Hanken was the first Finnish university to start working and studying from home, and I will do my best to ensure that we can all continue working as smoothly as possible.

My sympathies go to every teacher who is now adjusting their courses to the current situation, and to every student struggling with their studies in this state of great uncertainty. I understand your concern for exams, degrees, dissertations and future jobs.

But I also know how competent and dedicated our staff are, and I am proud of our talented and successful students.

Health is the most important thing for all of us, and no one knows for sure how things will change in the coming days and weeks. We at Hanken will stay together, even though we do not gather daily. Please share your everyday life via social media using #hankenremote

Working at distance can still feel lonely and unfamiliar. Remember to keep in touch with your colleagues and study buddies. Organize virtual coffee breaks and chat moments together. Ask a friend how it is going. Keep each other company and provide the support you can.

Everything goes better when we take care of each other. Keep safe!

Karen
Rector

Hanken provides regular information about the exceptional situation by continuously updating a web page, which is the primary information channel. In addition, at least in the initial phase, we will also send e-mails regularly about the most important updates.
