Awards and distinctions at the Christmas coffee

During Hanken's traditional Christmas coffee in Helsinki 18 December 2018, Rector Karen Spens honoured Hanken faculty and staff by presenting awards and distinctions.

 

Rewards for teaching

This year, the following persons were rewarded:

Gustav Medberg for Hanken’s first MOOC course Principles of Service Management 
Sofia Stolt and Daniel Sjöberg for creating learning environments for teaching business communication in Swedish 
Pontus Troberg, Kim Ittonen, Dennis Sundvik, Henrik Höglund, Benita Gullkvist, Carsten Måsabacka, Laura Arranz-Aperte, Mansoor Afzali samt Eva Ström for restructuring the Bachelor’s thesis in accounting 
Maria Gajitos and Maj-Britt Höglund for the concept Communication Clinic and Thesis Clinic (Vaasa)
Johanna Dahlin for developing the courses in Finnish
Jan Antell for the methodology course in finance and for supervising Master’s theses 
Petri Mäntysaari for the course Digital Economy and Society
Tom Lahti for outstanding teaching in entrepreneurship in both Vaasa and Helsinki
Markus Wartiovaara och Henrik Steinbrecher for developing Hanken Business Lab and its role in teaching
 

Rewards for administrative staff

Rector, together with the directors, have decided to reward the following persons:

Jennie Bertula, who has extensive experience of student counselling and is most appreciated among both students and colleagues
Natalia Boltovskaya, who is very active and creative and constantly renews and develops her field of work 
Jenny Elander, who has actively developed Hanken’s HR functions and serves everyone with great competence and kindness
Lukas Lundin, who has a high degree of professional know-how and is always ready to help.
Susanna Paul, who successfully accepted more responsibilities and new tasks, and is very popular among both students and staff. 
Britt-Mari Siironen, who is very committed to her work as an education coordinator, and cares deeply for the well-being of the students.

In addition to this, Knight of the Order of the White Rose of Finland, awarded by The President of Finland 6.12.2017, was given to Associate Professor Åke Finne.

During the Christmas coffee Rector also gave a special thanks to the persons retiring from Hanken this year:
