Hanken - a role model in DEI?
In this session, we will explore what it means to be a leader in DEI, contribute to the discussion on DEI at Hanken, and find inspiration to make a difference in your immediate community.

The event will begin with an introductory lecture by Hanken’s new professor of practice Shadia Rask, tying the link between DEI and SDG and showcasing examples of pioneering in DEI from outside of Hanken. Following this, DEI coordinator Fon Krairiksh will present the Hanken DEI plan and introduce concrete actions towards the strategic goal of being a role model in DEI. The session will end with a facilitated discussion on how students and staff in the Hanken community can join in walking the talk. Closing remarks will be given by Associate Dean of Sustainability Nikodemus Solitander.

As further inspiration on the path of role modelling, there will be an opportunity to see and learn about the “I was born a girl” -exhibition. The exhibition depicts rights of women and girls around the world through both art and poetry. Minna Pietarinen has painted world-changing women around the globe who each represent a human right in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The exhibition is co-founded and curated by Peppi Stünkel.

The event is part of Hanken's SDG week. Full programme can be found here: SDG week 2025 | Hanken
