Hanken Centre for Corporate Governance welcomes you to an exciting guest lecture held by Kirsi Varhila, Director General at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. The event is open to all interested parties.
One of the coalition government’s flagship policies has been to overhaul the
country’s social and welfare legislation – or Sote as it’s known in Finnish. The process has been mired in political deadlock with many twists and turns along the way - up to now, all attempts to pass it have failed. It has taken a fair amount of horse-trading to get to where we are today; if a final version is approved it will certainly not be in the form the government had originally imagined.
In this guest lecture, Kirsi Varhila will discuss the current state of the planned reform. What are the implications? And what’s in it for the citizen?
It has been a long, rocky road for the Sote reform – is the end finally in sight?
Welcome!
