Welcome to a Fulbright seminar with Professor Lisa Ellram!

Hanken School of Economics will host a seminar with Professor Ellram from Miami University (Oxford, OH),  with the topic
¨Circular economy: challenges and opportunities for research and practice¨

The seminar will held on Tuesday 18 April from 9 - 10 a.m. in auditorium A411 in Hankens main building (Arkadiankatu 22, Helsinki) . A small breakfast will be served prior to the seminar, at 8.30 a.m.

In the seminar, Professor Ellram will address the topic of the circular economy. There has been a great deal of discussion and a rapidly increasing number of publications on the topic of circular economy in the past several years.

This presentation will provide insights into what circular economy is, why it is so important, and the opportunities it presents for business and practice. The “pure” circular economy model has been criticized as unrealistic and utopian, but does that mean it is without merit?  This presentation will provide a perspective on what we can learn from circular economy business models, and the fundamental changes this approach requires to the way that businesses, government and individuals view resources and consumption.

Professor Lisa Ellram is visiting Hanken as a Fulbright-Hanken Distinguished Chair in Business and Economics until May, 2023.

Program:

08.30-9.00 Coffee and mingle
09.00-10.00 Presentation and discussion

The seminar will be held in English.

The seminar is free of charge and is open for Hanken alumni, students, staff and corporate partners to register by 17 April.
