Accounting

Hankenstudenter på sommargård
Accounting offers a solid education for a professional career in business, such as CGR accountant, financial director, accounting manager or financial analyst.

Hanken’s research and education programmes in Helsinki and Vaasa have a strong international focus. The Accounting subject at Hanken is among the leading units in Finland, and in sustainability reporting, we are recognised as one of the top institutions in the Nordic region. The department maintains excellent connections with both the business community and international universities.

We offer a diverse range of courses for Bachelor's and master's students in Swedish, and a master's programme in English in Helsinki. In Vaasa, we offer a Double Degree Programme in cooperation with the Umeå School of Business (master's Programme in Sustainability Reporting and Financial Analysis). More information about the new programme.

The studies in our PhD programme are integrated with the Graduate School of Accounting, a joint programme with other Finnish business schools. On average, one researcher is awarded a PhD per year, and the trend is expected to continue. Research in accounting covers e.g. international accounting, earnings management, auditing, sustainability reporting and corporate governance.
