Claire Louise Travers is a final-stage doctoral researcher, and level 4 teacher and course coordinator in the Supply Chain Management subject. Her doctoral thesis focuses on humanitarian logistics, specifically on local procurement and market-aligned aid provision. Her composite thesis is expected to be defended in academic year 2025-26.
Claire received a 2020 Safer Complex Systems independent researcher grant from the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Lloyds Register. Claire's doctoral work is funded by Liikesivistysrahasto myöntää apurahaa kauppatieteeliseen tutkimukseen (lsr.fi) Alfred Kordelin Foundation and the Auramo Foundation (auramo-saatio.fi).

Previously Claire was an evaluation consultant in humanitarian contexts, with deployments to the Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Bangladesh, Pacific Islands, Jordan, Malawi, West Africa, Nepal, and Madagascar. In 2021, Claire Louise Travers founded the Local Procurement Learning Partnership, now housed at the Humanitarian Logistics Association. During her doctoral work Claire has worked with the IFRC and the Finnish Red Cross to maintain a deployable humanitarian profile.
