Banking Research Workshop
The 6th Banking Research Workshop took place on September 18, 2025 at Hanken School of Economics in Vaasa.

Submissions
The workshop organizers cordially invite submissions of completed and early-stage papers that address various aspects of banking and financial intermediation. Possible topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Financial intermediation and regulation
- Financial stability and economic growth
- Corporate governance of financial institutions
- Sustainability and social responsibility in the banking industry
- Risk management and measurement
- Politics and banking
- Financial innovation and recent banking sector development
All presentations, including the keynote speech, will be fully on-site with no option to participate remotely.
The deadline for submissions was on June 15, 2025 and all authors have been notified about the status of their submissions.
Workshop organizers
Denis Davydov is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Hanken School of Economics. He also holds the title of Docent in Finance and Banking at the University of Vaasa where he has previously worked as a Senior Lecturer in Finance. Denis has also worked as a visiting researcher at the Bank of Finland (Institute for Emerging Economies) and held visiting positions at the University of Manchester (UK), University of Strasbourg (France), and Stockholm University (Sweden). He has also held visiting researcher appointments at Auburn University (AL, US), Clemson University (SC, US), and Florida Atlantic University (FL, US).
Sami Vähämaa is a Professor of Accounting and Finance and the Head of the Finance Group at the University of Vaasa. He is also currently affiliated with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the University of Turku, and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, and he has previously held visiting appointments at the University of Central Florida, University of Manchester, University of Sydney, Florida Atlantic University, Bentley University, Deusto Business School, and the European Central Bank.
