Pia Polsa is Lecturer of the Year in Helsinki

Every year, the Student Union chooses the Lecturer of the Year at SHS's annual party and SSHV's annual party. Associate professor Pia Polsa has been voted as Lecturer of the Year in Helsinki and received the award at the SHS annual party on 24 February 2023.

In their award letter, SHS writes that they want to give recognition to Pia Polsa for her inspiring teaching and her ability to include examples from the corporate world. They also thanked Polsa for having such current topics in her teaching. In addition, students have a strong sense that Polsa cares about them and how they are doing.

"Of all the awards and honours, apart from the Nobel Prize in Medicine, I appreciate this one the most. Thank you for voting for me! And all of you who didn't vote for me, pull me by the sleeve and tell me what I can do better and how I can develop my teaching, because according to the latest neurological research, the brain develops throughout our lifetime," said a delighted Polsa in her speech.
