Hanken students successful in Prüfung Wirtschaftsdeutsch

Prüfung Wirtschaftsdeutsch 2025
This year, eight Hanken students participated in the international exam "Prüfung Wirtschaftsdeutsch PWD" which is organised in Finland by the German Finnish Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with Hanken and the Goethe-Institute. The PWD diploma is the highest grade that can be obtained in business German.

It is an important step in order to gain a place in the corporate world where communication between Finland, Germany and the other German-speaking countries is important.

The German Language Department at Hanken's Language Centre offers every year, as part of its curriculum, the course "Deutsch VI, Wirtschaftskommunikation", which serves as a preparation course for this exam. Hanken's participants passed the exam, which consists of a written and an oral part, with good results.

Several times already, students from Hanken have received an award for the best result of all Finnish participants. The Friedrich-Russegger Prize of 250 Euro is awarded by the German Finnish Chamber of Commerce, and again this year, a Hanken student, Felix Emmesberger, won this prestigious prize.

The festive diploma ceremony was held at the German Embassy on Furuholmen by Stephan Auer, Germany's Ambassador to Finland on Furuholmen on 6 May 2025.

Present representatives were, among others Embassy Counsellor of Germany Christoph Peleikis, Antti Grönlund and Mika Pöpken from the German Finnish Chamber of Commerce, Ulrike Eichstätt from Goethe Institute, Stefan Kuzay, Timo Dufour, Anne Franzén and Joonas-Marcus Laos fromHanken.
