Hanken and Arcada join forces in unique student housing project

The foundation stone of the new eight storey building on the Arcada Campus in Arabianranta, Helsinki, was put up on 17 January 2018. The new building will have have 103 student apartments and state of the art sports facilities.

This unique building project is the result of the strategic partnership between Hanken and Arcada. For the first time Hanken will have student housing to offer its students. This is the first of two building projects Hanken is currently involved in.

The current building project will accomodate apartments on the lower levels and a sports center including a fitness gym and a test laboratory in floors 6-8. The first students should be able to move in 2019.

According to Hanken’s rector Karen Spens there are synergies in the co-operation with Arcada and the opportunity to invest in housing is valuable.

-The co-operation opens up opportunities that would be impossible for us to go through with on our own. We are very pleased with this joint project and the new possibilities created by joining forces, says Spens.

The modern student housing on the Arcada campus is very popular and the new apartments are expected to attract new tenants quickly when they are finished in January 2019.
