Hanken alumni are well prepared for international careers
The survey was sent during autumn 2023 to master's degree graduates who received their degree five years ago and doctoral degree graduates from three years ago. Once again, Hanken received excellent ratings in the survey. Respondents gave their studies a score of 4.9 out of 6, compared to the national average of 4.7 across all Finnish universities.
A full 94% reported being satisfied with their careers. Hanken alumni strongly feel that the international experience gained during their studies has had a clear impact on their employment. They also top the national statistics for alumni living abroad five years after graduation.
Karri Lumivirta is one of the Hanken alumni who received the survey this year. For him, responding is a given.
“I encourage everyone to respond to the survey and thereby support Hanken’s success. Our responses also help current students gain an overview of different career opportunities across various fields of study,” says Lumivirta.
Hanken's master's programme was recently ranked 60th in this year's edition of the Financial Times Masters in Management ranking, which is also partly based on the alumni’s evaluation of their education.

Every response matters to Hanken
This year’s career follow-up survey started on 1 October 2025. The survey has been sent to master’s graduates from 2020 and doctoral graduates from 2022. The results also affect Hanken’s funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture.
“We hope that as many alumni as possible will take the time to respond to this year's survey. Insights from our alumni are incredibly valuable to Hanken and help us develop our education while also securing our funding,” says Mira Aarnivuo, alumni relations and fundraising manager at Hanken.
