Eva Liljeblom granted the title Commander of the Order of the Lion of Finland

The President of the Republic of Finland, the Grand Master of the Order of the White Rose of Finland and the Order of the Lion of Finland, has granted the title Commander of the Order of the Lion of Finland to Hanken School of Economics' Rector Eva Liljeblom on Finland's Independence Day 6 December.

Liljeblom was awarded the title for her efforts in academia as well as her expertise and involvement in business life during difficult economic times. The appointment was motivated by Liljeblom's engagement to contribute with her expertise to the societal development - an engagement without counterpart in Finland.

Eva Liljeblom's résumé includes over 30 scientific articles, published in the most prestigious international journals in the field of finance. She has published a total of 25 contributions in monographs, government reports, etc. and has so far supervised 35 completed doctoral theses.

Liljeblom's commitment to the societal development and politics is illustrated by several investigative assignments and reports to both the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Employment and the Economy. She is also member of several boards and committees.

Among the recipients of the Order of the White Rose and the Order of the Lion also several Hanken alumni are found.
