Conference on Corporate Governance and Corruption

The 1st Hanken Centre for Corporate Governance conference on Corporate Governance and Corruption will be held 11-12 June 2015.

Hanken Centre for Corporate Governance at Hanken School of Economics (HCCG) is pleased to announce the 1st HCCG Conference on Corporate Governance and Corruption. The theme will be covered from a broad spectrum of angles, focusing on the latest research in the field.

The keynote speakers will be Professor Joseph Fan (Chinese University, Hong Kong) and Professor Johann Graf Lambsdorff (University of Passau).

Professor Joseph Fan is one of the most cited finance professors in Asia. He is an expert in finance and governance of emerging market corporations, in particular, large family firms. His research has often been featured by global and regional media, including The Economist, New York Times, Asian Wall Street Journal, and Financial Times. He has extensive consulting activities with Asian corporations and international organisations including the World Bank and OECD.

Professor Johann Graf Lambsdorff designed the Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index. He is recognized for his work on institutional and behavioural economics of reform. First launched in 1995, the Corruption Perceptions Index has been widely credited with putting the issue of corruption on the international policy agenda. In 2014 Finland was the third least corrupted out of 175 countries covered. Countries are scored on how corrupt their public sectors are seen to be.
