Christina Dahlblom new associate dean at Hanken School of Economics

Christina Dahlblom
PhD, professor of practice, entrepreneur and board professional, Christina Dahlblom has been appointed Hanken School of Economics’ associate dean focusing on executive education and corporate relations as of 1 March 2025.

“It feels meaningful to  contribute to Hanken's development. During my  four years as professor of practice at Hanken, I have worked on various strategic projects at the university, including the development of our business relevance and the design of the new bachelor's programme in English”, says Christina Dahlblom.

In 2024, she also developed the new Navigator course path and worked on Hanken's lifelong learning strategy. Dahlblom would like Hanken to become even better at sharing  the cutting-edge research and knowledge that the Hanken community possesses.

“I think we can become even better at deepening our relationships with the business community, alumni and corporate partners. I appreciate that Hanken has chosen a person with strong roots in the business community for this position, and it will be interesting to learn more about how the academic world works”, says Dahlblom.

According to Dahlblom, Hanken’s relations with the business community are a strength and a key success factor. Since its founding in 2005, Hanken & SSE Executive Education has grown rapidly and profitably, and has performed well in all market conditions. In her new role, Dahlblom will take a seat on the Hanken & SSE Board.

“Christina's background is very well suited for  the position of associate dean. The link between business and academia is very central to a business school and it would not hurt to have more  people in Finland whose careers combine the two worlds”, says Ingmar Björkman, Hanken's Rector.

Dahlblom received her PhD from Hanken in 2004, defending a thesis on customer loyalty. During her career, she has worked e.g. as Business unit director at TNS Gallup, CEO at Hanken & SSE Executive Education and founder and CEO of Miltton Sparks. She is a board member of Evli Oyj, Viking Line Oyj and JA Finland.
