Christian Fjäder new professor of practice in societal resilience

Before becoming the CEO of Geostrat, a boutique geostrategic risk and resilience advisory firm, Fjäder has served as senior research fellow at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs and director for policy planning at Finland's National Emergency Supply Agency.
He has also held regional (Asia Pacific) and global leadership roles at Nokia, including head of risk and resilience. He has a PhD in international relations from the University of Sydney, an MBA from Bond University, and master’s and bachelor's degrees from Flinders University. He has published scholarly work on resilience, international security, geoeconomics, and strategic risk.
- I am honoured to join the Hanken HUMLOG Institute and contribute to advancing its impactful work. I’m particularly excited to help strengthen HUMLOG’s role in shaping research and practice in resilience, Comprehensive Security, and security of supply—both within Finland and through strategic collaboration with industrial and international partners, says Fjäder.
Fjäder’s role at Hanken includes developing a research stream in resilience, security of supply and comprehensive security, strengthening the subject’s and HUMLOG’s visibility in Finland and internationally, as well as being a bridge between academia and industry to align research with practical needs. Christian is also co-examiner in the Supply Chain Risk and Resilience course and lectures in various courses.
