The admission criteria for 60-credit open university courses have been updated
The admission criteria for the Swedish Bachelor’s programme for applicants applying via the 60-credit open university programme have been updated. The new admission criteria will apply from the 2027 application round onwards.
There are four changes to the admission criteria compared with those in use in 2026. The changes are the following:
- the average grade requirement is raised from 3.0 to 3.5,
- the time limit for completing a degree at the Open University is reduced from 7 years to 5 years,
- a pass in Hanken’s course 1141-OPU Ekonomisk matematik (or the equivalent course 1141 Ekonomisk matematik) must be included within the 10 credits in mathematical and logical subjects in the field of economics,
- At least 12 credits from the other Open University courses, in addition to the requirement of either 36 credits from Hanken’s mandatory basic courses in economics or 25 credits in a subject offered by Hanken as a major, must be completed at Hanken’s Open University.
Please note that the admission requirements for 2026 are still available on the application webpage. The changes for the 2027 application round will be updated on the webpage once the 2026 admissions process has concluded in early August.
