Diego Vega is Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management and Social Responsibility, esp. Humanitarian Logistics at Hanken School of Economics, Finland and Director of the HUMLOG Institute.
He has over 15 years of experience in conducting research in humanitarian logistics with and for international humanitarian organizations. Some of Diego’s research projects include the analysis of Swedish and Danish Red Cross supply chains, the analysis of MSF’s intersectional response to Covid-19 during ongoing operations, the development of IOM closed-loop supply chain for waste management, and the creation of a common data standard for humanitarian organizations (FHL). He is also Associate Editor of the Journal of Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Management and his research has been published almost exclusively on the area of Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Management. His current research interests include logistics services in humanitarian operations, modularity, closed-loop supply chains and competencies in humanitarian aid.
