Master's studies in Finance

Hanken's Master's program in Finance is designed to provide you with advanced knowledge and skills used in the financial sector. The program consists of 120 credits and is completed over two years. It is structured to provide you with an in-depth understanding of financial theories, markets, and tools used to analyze and manage financial issues. 

What you'll learn

During the studies, you will focus on building upon the foundational knowledge you acquired during your bachelor's studies. The courses include advanced financial theory, quantitative methods, investment analysis, and corporate finance. You will learn to use complex financial models and tools to analyze markets and companies. Additionally, courses in research methodology are included, which prepare you to conduct independent research. You also have the opportunity to engage in projects and internships that provide valuable work experience. 

A central part of the master's program is the master's thesis, which you will write during the second year. The thesis gives you the opportunity to gain further knowledge of a topic that interests you and to apply the knowledge and skills you have acquired during the program. You conduct independent research under the guidance of an experienced supervisor and present your results in a written report.
