Jeff Hearn is Professor Emeritus, Management and Organisation, here at Hanken, as well as being Research Director, GODESS (gender, organisation, diversity, equality, social sustainability) Institute. He is also Senior Professor, Human Geography, Örebro University, Sweden; Professor of Sociology, University of Huddersfield, UK; and honorary doctor, Social Sciences, Lund University, Sweden.
His research ranges across work, care, organisations, management, age, gender, sexuality, violence, men and masculinities, policy, ICTs, and transnational studies, including implications of decoloniality/postcolonialism for ‘centres’ and the global North. Involvement in many national, Nordic, EU, and international projects, including currently the 4-country project, Equal Care on older people living alone and digitalisation.
He is a member of the Hanken 'Responsible Organising' Area of Strength, and a long-term member of the Hanken Gender Research Group, and has edited with Charlotta Niemistö and Margaux Viallon, Memories and Reflections from the Gender Research Group: 21 Years of Collaborative Action, Hanken School of Economics Research Report, 2021. https://tuhat.helsinki.fi/ws/portalfiles/portal/173009134/FR_79_Gender_Reseach_Group.pdf. He has supervised 50 PhDs to completion, including 18 at Hanken.
