Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation donates 1 000 000 euros to Hanken

Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation has decided to donate 1 million euros to Hanken's ongoing fundraising campaign HANKEN RETURNS.

Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation has decided to donate 1 million euros to Hanken's ongoing fundraising campaign HANKEN RETURNS. Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation was established in 2002 to support high-quality, international research in economics, medicine and technology and to support arts and culture.

- Our purpose is to support high-quality research and we have seen that investing in Hanken gives results. We have supported Hanken in the previous fundraising campaign HANKEN 100 and also through a number of individual research projects. A donation to the ongoing campaign is a way for us to ensure that research continues to be on a high level also in the future, says the foundation's chairman Nils Ittonen.

- I would like to extend a warm gratitude both personally and on Hanken's behalf for the generous donation. I am extremely pleased that Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation has chosen to contribute to Hanken also in this campaign, says Hanken Rector Eva Liljeblom.

Hanken’s future Rector Karen Spens also welcomes the continued commitment.

- With this donation Hanken can continuously develop as a Swedish-speaking, international, and independent business school with focus on high quality and competitive research and education, says Spens.

The fundraising campaign HANKEN RETURNS lasts until 30 June 2017 and has until now collected 3.6 million euros. The collected funds are used for strengthening Hanken's unique position as Finland's only autonomous business school.
