Hanken on the rise in Financial Times’ Ranking

Hanken’s master’s programme has been ranked 65th in Financial Times’ annual Masters in Management ranking. This is a significant rise in comparison to last year (ranked 71).

In addition, this year the ranking has been expanded to include 100 universities instead of 95.  Financial Time annually ranks the  best master’s programmes world-wide.

- We are very pleased that our position in the ranking improved despite the fact that more universities were added. The result proves that Hanken’s master’s programme is of high international standard. We want to especially thank all the alumni that took the time to complete the survey from Financial Times, says Maj-Britt Hedvall, Director for the Centre for Research and Internationalisation.

In total there are some 14 000 business schools in the world. Of these, only 100 are ranked on the Financial Times list. Six Nordic business schools have made it on the list. Two of these are Finnish. The Top 3 consists of University of St. Gallen (1), HEC Paris (2) and London Business School (3).

Variables that affect the ranking are, for example, alumni career development and internationalisation of the university. The results in the ranking are partly based on a survey sent to alumni, who have graduated with a master’s degree from the university three years previously, and partly on data handed in by the universities themselves.
