Hanken is very content with the result. The total number of applications increased with over 60% from 354 in 2017 to 582 this year. The increase shows that Hanken is an attractive option also internationally.

The increase in number of applicants outside EU/EEA was particularly high. Hanken received more than double the amount of applications compared to last year (156 in 2017, 397 in 2018). This demonstrates that Hanken’s high quality programme is an internationally attractive option also after the tuition fees have been introduced.

- We have strict application criteria to ensure the quality in our education. We are pleased to see that this many international students have chosen Hanken as their first priority, says Minna Martikainen, Dean of Education at Hanken.

A total of 76 nationalities applied to Hanken this year. The great diversity is very positive as it creates genuinely international student groups. The non-EU/EEA applicants come from countries like Ghana, Nigeria, Vietnam, Pakistan and China.
