Transferring Studies Completed in Finland

Information about how to transfer studies completed in Finland.

If the course you have taken at another university in Finland is equivalent to a course at Hanken, the application for transferring credits is approved by the instructor of the course at Hanken that is equivalent to the course you have taken at the other university.

Visit the instructor during his/her office hours and hand in the  with an official transcript of records and a description of the course. When the instructor has approved your application, submit the application form and enclosures to the Student Helpdesk in Helsinki or Office of Study Affairs in Vaasa. The course will appear on your transcript as if you had completed the course at Hanken (the name of the course and course code).

 
If the course you have taken at another university in Finland is not equivalent to a course at Hanken but within a subject taught at Hanken the application for transferring credits is approved by the subject coordinator of that subject at Hanken or by a language teacher if it is a language taught at Hanken. Visit the subject coordinator or language teacher during his/her office hours and hand in the application form (above) with an official transcript of records and a description of the course.
 
When the subject coordinator or language teacher has approved your application, submit the application form and enclosures to the Student Helpdesk in Helsinki or Office of Study Affairs in Vaasa. The course will be listed as a transferred course under the subject on your transcript.

If the course you have taken at another university or in a polytechnic in Finland is not equivalent to any course at Hanken and not within any subject taught at Hanken you can apply for transferring it as elective studies. Submit your applicatin form (above) form with an official transcript of records and a description of the course to the Student Helpdesk in Helsinki or Office of Study Affairs in Vaasa. The decision will be made by the Office of Study Affairs.
