The Publication Forum (in Finnish Julkaisufoorumi = Jufo) maintains and develops the classification of scientific publication channels. The goal is a system, which combines qualitative ant quantitative assessment of scholarly publishing.
The rating has three levels: 1 = basic; 2 = leading; 3 = top. Other identified publication channels not reaching up to level 1 are listed with 0 and publication channels not yet assessed by the expert panels are listed with the mark -.
On the search page you can check up which level a journal, publication series, conference or book has. If a publication channel is missing you can suggest it, or you can contact the library and we will help you.
The purpose of the classification is to serve as a quality indicator for the whole scientific publication production of universities within the Ministry of Education and Culture funding model as of 2015.
Publication Forum operates within The Federation of Finnish Learned Societies. It was initiated as a project by Universities Finland UNIFI in 2010 following the Norwegian and Danish examples. The first Publication Forum rating was completed in 2011.
