A special issue on relationship marketing in the Journal of Services Marketing, edited by CERS researchers Johanna Gummerus and Christian Kowalkowski, together with Catharina von Koskull from the University of Vaasa.

CERS researchers Johanna Gummerus and Christian Kowalkowski, together with Catharina von Koskull from the University of Vaasa have served as guest editors for the special issue on relationship marketing, in the Journal of Services Marketing.

The issue includes five research papers and four commentaries from well-renowned tought leaders within relationship marketing. In their guest editorial Gummerus, von Koskull and Kowalkowski comment on the persisting relevance of this stream of research. During more than twenty years, relationship marketing has brought the attention of researchers from transactions and exchanges to networks and relationships between different actors, such as providers and customers. Technological advances, together with a broader view on relationships, have caused an increasing interest in understanding the modern networked economy. Relationships permeate our service society, as they are found between different customers, between different networked service providers, and even between humans and digital devices.
