Course Description: 

This elective course introduces doctoral students to current research in management and organisation. There are no lectures. The literature is chosen, discussed and agreed upon with the teacher.

Learning Goal: 

You are familiar with current research in management and organisation.

After completing the course, you will be able to: 

• analyse and synthesise core literature in management and organisation
• identify relevant literature to define their research gap,
• define and argue for their research gap, and
• map core concepts and related concepts that are relevant to their research and doctoral dissertation.

Target Group: 

Only doctoral degree students within the doctoral program in Management and organization / Entrepreneurship, Management and Organisation / Information System Science.

Instruction: 

The amount of credits is decided by the lecturer before the course starts.
For 2 ECTS:100 hours of work, reading of literature consisting of about 400 pages.
For 3 ECTS:100 hours of work, reading of literature consisting of about 600 pages.
For 4 ECTS: 100 hours of work, reading of literature consisting of about 800 pages.
For 5 ECTS: 125 hours of work, reading of literature consisting of about 1000 pages
For 6 ECTS: 150 hours of work, reading of literature consisting of about 1200 pages
For 7ECTS: 175 hours of work, reading of literature consisting of about 1400 pages
For 8ECTS: 200 hours of work, reading of literature consisting of about 1600 pages

Literature and Course Material: 

This course is meant for doctoral students to consolidate their knowledge of issues connected to management and organisation. Reading package agreed upon with the instructor.

Assessment: 

Written examination or essay of appropriate length decided with supervisor.
