Course description

This elective course introduces doctoral students to current research in Entrepreneurship. There are no lectures. The literature is chosen, discussed and agreed upon with the teacher.
The course is for all doctoral students admitted to the doctoral program in Management and Organization, Entrepreneurship, Management and Organisation or Information Systems Science.

You have a thorough knowledge of core concepts and related concepts that are relevant to your research.

After completing the course, you will be able to
  • analyse and synthesise core literature in entrepreneurship
  • identify relevant literature to define their research gap
  • criticize and argue for their research gap
Instruction

The amount of credits is decided by the lecturer before the course starts.
For 2 ECTS: 53 hours of work, reading of literature consisting of about 400 pages.
For 3 ECTS: 80 hours of work, reading of literature consisting of about 600 pages.
For 4 ECTS: 107 hours of work, reading of literature consisting of about 800 pages.
For 5 ECTS: 134 hours of work, reading of literature consisting of about 1000 pages.
For 6 ECTS: 160 hours of work, reading of literature consisting of about 1200 pages.
For 7 ECTS: 187 hours of work, reading of literature consisting of about 1400 pages.
For 8 ECTS: 214 hours of work, reading of literature consisting of about 1600 pages.

Assessment

Written examination 100 %, essay of appropriate length decided with supervisor.

This course is meant for doctoral students to consolidate their knowledge of issues connected to entrepreneurship, management and organisation. Reading package agreed upon with the instructor.
