  • HANKEN RETURNS exceeded all expectations and raised 11,8 million euro to Hanken
    The fundraising campaign HANKEN RETURNS ended 30 June 2017. The campaign got support from a total of 944 private persons, organisations and foundations who together donated 11.8 million euro to Hanken.

  • Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation donates 2 000 000 to Hanken
    This is the second donation from the foundation to the campaign and the largest donation to the campaign so far, making the total amount of contributions from the foundation three million euro. With this donation, the foundation wishes to further strengthen Hanken’s internationally excellent research and teaching in economics.     As of 14 December 2016 and six months onwards, a group of alumni will match all incoming donations from other alumni with 1:1.     Private persons are allowed to deduct tax on donations of and between 850 and 500 000 euro. Donations of and between 850 and 250 000 euro are tax deductible for companies. Click here for more information.

    Private persons are allowed to deduct tax on donations of and between 850 and 500 000 euro. Hanken is responsible for registering the donation with the tax authority and it will automatically appear on your tax declaration. For more information please visit the tax authority's web-site (only in Finnish).

    Donations of and between 850 and 250 000 euro are tax deductible only from companies. Donations from companies are recorded with the tax administration authorities by the donating company.

  • Hanken received a donation of 1 000 000 euro from The Swedish Cultural Foundation
    The Swedish Cultural Foundation donates 1 000 000 euro to Hanken and the ongoing fundraising campaign HANKEN RETURNS. The donation is the largest endowment so far to the campaign. HANKEN RETURNS has now received donations exceeding 2.5 million euro. The donation was officially handed over to Rector Eva Liljeblom by the Director of the Swedish Cultural Foundation Leif Jakobsson and Education Officer Veronica Granö-Suomalainen at a ceremony on 25 May 2015.

    - Without a comprehensive educational networking system we have no future, and Hanken is an important part of this network when it comes to educating business graduates with knowledge in Swedish. Hanken’s collaboration with other universities is integral and we hope that these collaborations will gain the creative industries that will bear the economy of tomorrow, said Leif Jakobsson.

  • Scholarship ceremony
    On 25 May 2015, Hanken gathered about 70 participants at the annual donor evening which included a scholarship ceremony. At the event mobility grants named after donors were given to the best performing students, and the best master's theses during the academic year 2014–2015.

    Hanken awards honorary scholarships for exchange studies to the 15 best performing students in the spring semester and the 16 best performing students in the fall semester. The scholarship is based on the pace of study in combination with the grades. Master's theses are appointed based on the grade of the thesis and distributed to the nine best master's theses. The time period for this year's nominations is 1.6.2014–6.5.2015.

  • The Foundation Tre Smeder donates 750 000 Euro
    The campaign got a flying start with a donation of €750 000 from the Foundation Tre Smeder. "To receive such a large donation is of course absolutely fantastic and we are extremely grateful to be able to start our campaign in this way," says rector Eva Liljeblom.

  • The campaign's first donations
    The fundraising campaign HANKEN RETURNS was launched 10 December 2014. At the event the two first donations were announced, Bergsrådet Tekn. och Ekon. Dr. h.c. Marcus Wallenbergs Stiftelse för Företagsekonomisk Forskning with a donation of €250 000 and the Foundation Louise and Göran Ehrnrooth with a donation of €250 000.
