Professor of Social Work, Monash University
Margaret Alston is Professor of Social Work at Monash University. In 2008 she established the Gender, Leadership and Social Sustainability (GLASS) research unit at Monash. The unit has attracted an extensive number of PhD students. Previously she was at Charles Sturt University for 21 years, most recently as Professor of Social Work.
In 2010 she was awarded an Order of Australia for her services to social work and to rural women.

Niklas Bruun is a professor in commercial law at Hanken with focus on intellectual property law, and serves as director for the IPR University Center.
Professor Bruun has extensive experience in international law, labour law and equality issues both in Finland and international forums.

Suvi Heikkinen received her doctoral degree in management and leadership in 2015. She is currently researching topics related to equality issues in working life and working as a postdoctoral researcher in a research project, Social and Economic Sustainability of Future Working Life (WeAll), funded by the Strategic Research Council, Academy of Finland.

Jaana Holappa-Girginkaya, M.Sc., has been working for many years in public health sector. During her work, she has observed from a very close distance many different cases that motivated her to contribute to this particular research area.
In her research, she focuses on the capabilities of women employees who work on temporary contract in health sector. In particular, leadership as a mechanism in advancing and limiting the capabilities is of interest. The research is located in the field of social inclusion, gender, ethics in leadership and health sector.

Charlotte Holgersson holds a position as Associate Professor in the division of Organisation and Management at the Department of Industrial Economics and Management, KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
Her research is located at the intersection of organization and management studies and gender studies. She is interested in the empirical and theoretical exploration of gender ordering in organizations, in particular issues of management, change and sexuality.
Dr. Liisa Husu is Professor of Gender Studies at Örebro University, Sweden, and Co-Director for GEXcel International Collegium for Advanced Transdisciplinary Gender Studies.
Husu received her PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Helsinki in 2001, and was awarded the Gender Studies award Christina of the Year in 2002 by the University of Helsinki Gender Studies, and Gender Equality Prize of the University of Helsinki, the Maikki Friberg Prize, in 2009.
Her research interests focus on gender in scientific organisations, academia and knowledge production; especially on gender dynamics and inequalities in scientific careers, organisations and science policy. Current research focuses on gender equality in research funding organisations.
She has functioned extensively as a gender expert and adviser for diverse research stakeholders in Nordic countries, Europe and internationally, including funding organisations, Ministries and advocacy organisations, and has been actively involved in developing gender approaches in universities and research policy since the early 1980s in many roles and contexts.
Dr. Maj-Britt Höglund is a former journalist turned researcher of media texts. Her research is set within Critical Discourse Analysis, focusing on media texts and their construction of women in contemporary society.
She defended her thesis “Re-Inventing the Cosmo Girl. How a Magazine Neutralizes Competing Discourses” in 2016.

Emilia Kangas, M.Sc., is a doctoral candidate in Management and Leadership at University of Jyväskylä, Finland. Her doctoral thesis concerns fatherhood and management.
She is currently working in a research project, Social and Economic Sustainability of Future Working Life (WeAll), funded by the Strategic Research Council, Academy of Finland.
She has also been involved in research projects concerning gender in management and careers. Her main research interests are gender in management, fatherhood, and work-family relationship. She has published topics related to gender stereotypes and women’s leadership and fatherhood of managers.

Jonna’s research interests focus on diversity and inclusion, ontologies of difference and equality work. Her empirical work has been carried out in Finland, France and the Silicon Valley. She gained her PhD in 2013 at Hanken School of Economics. Between 2014 and 2016 she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Clayman Institute for Gender Research at Stanford University.

Jean Helms Mills is additionally a Docent at Jyväskylä University School of Business (Finland), and a Senior Research Fellow at Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki since 2008.
Jean has presented her work on historiography, critical sensemaking, gender, culture and change at numerous conferences and published in various journals. Currently, she is Co-Editor of Qualitative Research in Organizations and Management and Associate Editor of Gender, Work and Organization. She is past divisional Co-Chair of the Critical Management Studies Division of The Academy of Management.

Albert J. Mills is a Professor of Management at Saint Mary’s University (Canada) and Professor of Innovation 2.0 at the University of Eastern Finland.
He is Co-editor of Qualitative Research in Organizations and Management; and an Associate Editor of Gender, Work and Organization; Organization; and the International Journal of Work Innovation. He also serves on the editorial boards of several other journals, including Equality, Diversity, Inclusion.
He is the author of over 40 books and edited collections, including:
- Oxford Handbook of Diversity in Organizations (2016) and
- Insights and Research on the study of Gender and Intersectionality in International Airline Cultures (Emerald, 2017).
Albert is currently the co-chair of the International Board of Critical Management Studies.
His research interests are in the areas of gender, historiography, Critical Management Studies, and Critical Sensemaking.
Currently he is a principal investigator and co-investigator in two SSHRC grants to study the problems of discrimination in the airline industry (intersectionality) and to study the dissemination of management knowledge in Canada and the United States.

Dr. Charlotta Niemistö is Project Leader, Social and Economic Sustainability of Future Working Life (WeAll), a project funded by the Strategic Research Council, Academy of Finland.
Her research interests include questions around work/family reconciliation, work/non-work boundaries, coping at work, gender, age/generations, inequalities, and social and human sustainability.

Currently an Associate Professor of Marketing at the Hanken, Pia Polsa has previously worked for Fudan University, Nankai University and Hult International Business School in Shanghai.
Her current research interests are poverty, service and relationship marketing at non-profit settings like health care in developing countries, international marketing channels, and cross-cultural methodology. Additionally, her research includes grocery retailing and consumer behaviour in China and sustainable poverty alleviating business models in India.
She has published in journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Macromarketing, Journal of Services Marketing, Supply Chain Management, among others.
Her work has also appeared in practitioner-oriented journals like Talouselämä.

Rodi-Risberg's research focuses on trauma narratives (fictional, autobiographical, mediatized) and gender. She has published in such journals as Studies in the Novel and Critique: Studies in Contemporary Fiction.

Inkeri Tanhua began her PhD studies at Hanken in 2016. She is researching how intersectional gender segregation happens in educational institutions.
Tanhua is also an experienced gender equality and diversity specialist. She has consulted public and private sector organizations and projects in gender equality and diversity since 2006. Her earlier educational qualifications include M.S.Sc. with a major in gender studies from Linköping University and M.Sc. (Econ.) from Turku School of Economics.

Anna Wahl holds a Chair, Professor Gender, Organization and Management, at the Department of Industrial Economics and Management, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH).
Her research areas are Organization and management theory, with focus on gender and feminist theory. She was a pioneer in the field of gender research on management in Sweden with the doctoral thesis Gender structures in organizations (Könsstrukturer i organisationer) 1992, Stockholm School of Economics.

Kristoffer Wilén is mainly working within the fields of political ecology and ‘social ecological economics’.
of his research interests are: the political dimensions of human-environmental relations, the post-political climate & era and neoliberalisation of environmental debates, subjectification and power within consumption and work, and the commodification and economisation of everything in market(ing) society – and as alternatives: degrowth, commons, solidarity economy, and environmental justice.
He is one of the co-authors of the book ‘Talous kasvun jälkeen’ (Gaudeamus, 2016. In English: ‘The post-growth economy/ies’).
Since 2008 Kerri has been a Senior Research Fellow for the Gender, Leadership and Social Sustainability (GLASS) research unit. Kerri is a rural sociologist with research interests in gender, rural communities, rural and farm families, irrigation communities and gender and climate change.
Ling Eleanor Zhang

Ling Eleanor Zhang is a tenure-track Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in International Business. She received her PhD from Hanken School of Economics (Helsinki, Finland) in August 2015.
A key focus of Ling’s research is interaction across boundaries, which is manifested in various research settings, such as boundary spanning of multicultural employees, social categorisation and conflict management between expatriates and host country employees, and human resource practices at MNC subsidiaries abroad.
