The Subject Commercial Law
The teaching of Commercial Law, at both Hanken's Helsinki and Vaasa campuses, is orientated towards the practical application of this subject in the business arena. Our teaching and research activities are therefore strongly motivated by actual business practice. We offer foundation in business and taxation law to all Hanken degree students (both undergraduate and postgraduate) regardles if they are majoring in Accounting, Economics, Management and Marketing. Our primary areas of commercial law research include corporate finance and corporate governance, tax law, employment law and intellectual property law.
For students who choose to major in Commercial Law we offer a comprehensive law-specific curriculum covering all relevant areas of Commercial Law on all levels (BSc, Msc and PhD). On master's level students can also choose to specialise in Intellectual Property Law. The master's studies in IP Law are very popular and unique in Finland.
