Personal study plan

What is a personal study plan?

A personal study plan (PSP) is a tool you can use to plan your studies and comprehend the degree structure. Here are some general guidelines for using the PSP:

  1. Save the template ( Degree Structure Template for the MSc Degree [doc] 120k) on your computer. Please give the document a new name, for example your name, studentnumber and MSc programme.
  2. Make a list of the courses you have to take and the order in which you plan to take them and when you plan to graduate.
  3. Fill in the compulsory and programme specific courses. You will find them on Hankens website (you will have to scroll down in order to find the structures of the MSc programmes on the website).
  4. Choose your elective courses
  5. Count the number of credits. The degree must consist of at least 120 credits. A minimum of half of the degree must be completed at Hanken.
  6. Fill in the check box for the courses you have passed or courses that have been transferred from another higher education institution.
  7. Start making a schedule for the courses.
  8. The elective studies can be completed during a semester abroad. Exchange studies can be planned by filling in "Exchange Studies" in the rows for Elective Studies. In order to get a Hanken exchange place you must plan to complete a minimum of 30 credits during an exchange semester.
  9. You should be able the complete your studies within two years, which means that the recommedation is to complete 60 credits per academic year.
  10. The MSc degree must consist of at least 6 credits of language studies.

We recommend that you fill in the template if you want to visit the counsellor.
