In which register is my e-mail address found?

You e-mail address is found in many different registers during your time as a student. Below a list of the most common places, as well as advice where to change the address if needed (for example, in case you change your name).

At least the following systems, used in studies in different ways, will be affected by the change of the student e-mail address. In some systems the student himself has to change the e-mail, in others the change will be made centrally by the school.

System
AD - the user register at Hanken
Your e-mail address is found in our user register AD. If of one reason or another change your name, or change your e-mail (for example you use your second, and not your first name) you need to tell InfoBITen/Computer centre so the change is done both in the user register AD and on the e-mail servers. Name change has, of course, always also to be told to the ServicePoint/Studiebyrån i Vasa.
Oodi Always inform the ServicePOint/ServicePUnkten or hte Studibeaurau in Vasa of a name change so the change can be made in Oodi.
Library System Hanna, Tria, ...
Inform the library of any change in name or e-mail address. - The e-mail is used for reminders and notifications so it is important that it is correct. Also in other library systems (Tria at Tritonia, Aalto and Helsinki university etc) you need to inform about the change yourself

Students who work at Hanken need two user-ids

Hanken students who also work at Hanken needs two user-ids and two e-mail addresses.

The @hanken.fi account stays with the working id, and the student e-mail address will be @student.hanken.fi.

The user-id that belongs to work has the @hanken.fi account and cannot be forwarded anywhere - it is not allowed for staff and faculty to forward their mails outside the organization Hanken.

To get a user-id an application, signed by your boss, has to be returned to InfoBITen/computer center ( application form found on the Swedish pages on the staff/faculty webportal )

If you have been working with your studentid already - remember that what you have on your network directory H:\ or under My Documents on your work computer is associated with that id. To access it from your work user-ID you need to move your jobrelated stuff to the computer or to the Group directory on G: in case others need to access the material in the future).

When the job ends, the @hanken.fi email account ends.

The @student.hanken.fi will follow you troughout your stay as a student.
